Wednesday 29th July 2026 (may close sooner depending on applications) About the Role Located within the beautiful Howardian Hills, this historic site welcomes thousands of visitors each year to its Retreat Centre, Visitor Centre, Shop and Tea Room. It offers a unique environment where hospitality, heritage and community come together. We are looking for a Retreat & Guest Relations Manager to lead the guest experience, ensuring every visitor receives a warm welcome from initial enquiry through to departure.

You will oversee retreats, group visits, conferences and events while leading a dedicated coordination team and maximising occupancy, service standards and revenue. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong hospitality, events or visitor attraction experience who enjoys delivering exceptional customer experiences within a unique heritage setting.

Key Responsibilities Guest Relations Lead all guest bookings for retreats, tours, conferences and events. Oversee check-in, check-out and the overall guest journey. Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver the annual retreat programme. Coordinate with housekeeping and operational teams to ensure exceptional service. Resolve guest enquiries and complaints professionally. Leadership & Operations Manage and develop a team of Retreat Coordinators, an Event Coordinator and volunteers.

Lead team meetings, performance reviews and training. Manage staffing rotas, ensuring appropriate weekend and bank holiday cover. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GDPR and Safeguarding requirements. Reservations & Performance Manage booking systems and room occupancy. Process invoices, deposits and billing accurately. Monitor KPIs and prepare monthly performance and guest feedback reports. Events & Conferences Act as the main contact for external venue hire.

Coordinate conferences, concerts, tours and special events. Liaise with caterers, facilities teams and external suppliers to ensure successful delivery. Customer Experience Deliver a welcoming, professional and high-quality guest experience. Ensure guest requirements, including dietary needs, are met. Continuously improve service standards through guest feedback. About You We’re looking for someone who has:
Previous experience in hospitality, guest relations, events or visitor attraction management. Strong leadership and people management skills. Excellent customer service and communication abilities. Outstanding organisation and attention to detail. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment. A calm, approachable and professional manner. Respect for working within a heritage and historic environment. A full driving licence and access to transport.

Experience with in a heritage, tourism or faith-based environment would be advantageous.
