Position: Public Space Attendant – The Sanctuary
Position Summary
The Public Space Attendant will be responsible for the daily ownership and operational execution of the Housekeeping Department. The Public Space Attendant is responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards in all public areas, assisting and supporting all Housekeeping Associates in assigned areas, and assisting with any special cleaning projects. Common public areas include, but are not limited to, foyers, restrooms, offices, conference spaces, porches, public walkways, lobbies, fitness center, pool area, and salon.

The rate of pay listed on job boards are auto-generated numbers. Kiawah Island Golf Resort’s actual rate of pay for this position is $18.00 per hour.
Qualifications
- High School graduate, or equivalent, is preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience of one year is preferred.
- Must work both independently and in a team environment.
- Good to excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations required.
- Maintain the highest quality standards in all public areas and assist all Housekeeping Associates.
- Smile and take ownership while providing our guests with quality service.
- Clean multiple common areas in a timely and efficient manner.
- Practice safety standards at all times.
- Follow department standards and assist in implementing new procedures for continuous improvement.
- Ensure that restrooms are maintained and refreshed with supplies on a continuous basis.
- Remain alert, courteous, and helpful to guests and co‑workers at all times.
- Ensure all storage areas are clean and well maintained.
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Organize, store, and distribute supplies.
- Document maintenance requests on a daily basis.
- Set up and organize workstations with designated supplies and equipment, including replenishing supplies as needed during the shift.
- Motivate by example either on the production floor or in a classroom environment.
- Promote minimum levels of skills and abilities that create a positive outcome in a hot or challenging work environment.
- Uphold the core values and policies & procedures of the resort.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Essential
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift a minimum weight of 50 lbs. across short‑medium distances.
- Must be able to stand for the entirety of the shift while reaching, bending, and stooping.
- Must be able to work on site due to daily needs of the job requirements.
- Ability to reach, bend, lift, and carry furniture and equipment.
