Overview
We’re a boutique social media agency working primarily with restaurants and food brands across Los Angeles. We’re looking for a highly creative, fast-moving Content Creator (Freelance) with strong experience capturing food and restaurant content specifically for social media.
This is not a traditional videographer role. We create short-form, scroll-stopping content — including Reels, TikToks, behind-the-scenes footage, and fun skit-style videos.
You should understand how food performs on social media and know how to capture content that feels dynamic, appetizing, and native to platforms like Instagram and TikTok.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute on-site social media shoots at restaurant locations
- Capture short-form vertical content (Reels / TikTok style)
- Direct FOH & BOH staff comfortably on camera
- Film food-focused content (texture, steam, sauce pulls, plating, action shots)
- Assist with filming light skit-style or personality-driven content
- Move efficiently in fast-paced restaurant environments
- Deliver organized raw footage promptly after shoots
- Collaborate with our Creative Director on shot lists and concepts
Requirements
- Proven experience in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing within the food or hospitality industry.
- Have experience shooting food and restaurant content
- Understand vertical video composition and pacing
- Know what performs well on social media
- Are confident directing people who are not professional actors
- Can work quickly without disrupting restaurant operations
- Are collaborative and take creative direction well
- Have your own camera equipment (iPhone ok)
Nice to Have
- Basic editing ability (CapCut / Premiere / Final Cut)
- Experience filming short skits or personality-based content
- Strong understanding of trends and meme-style formats
Compensation
Starting at $40/hour, based on experience.
Typical shoots range from 3–5 hours depending on client needs.
