SUMMARY:

A Luxury Big 5 Game Lodge in the Pilanesberg region is seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant Lodge Manager with a strong Food & Beverage background to join the management team.

This role is ideal for a hospitality professional who thrives in guest-facing operations and is passionate about service excellence. The successful candidate will lead the Food & Beverage department while supporting overall lodge operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and maintaining the highest hospitality standards.

The position is highly operational, with approximately 75% of the role spent on the floor overseeing service delivery, guest interaction, and staff management, and 25% focused on administration and reporting.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENT:

  • RSA ID and legal residence essential
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Lodge Manager, F&B Manager, or similar senior hospitality role
  • Strong Food & Beverage management experience essential
  • Experience within a luxury lodge, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred
  • Excellent guest relations and hosting skills
  • Strong leadership and team management ability
  • Experience managing restaurant, bar, and service operations
  • Good understanding of stock control, purchasing, and cost management
  • Strong administration and reporting skills
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop staff
  • Professional, hands-on, and service-driven approach
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-end hospitality environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and manage the Food & Beverage department
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service delivery standards
  • Oversee restaurant, bar, and dining operations
  • Support the Head Chef and ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and service teams
  • Train, mentor, and supervise F&B staff
  • Monitor stock control, purchasing, and cost management processes
  • Maintain high standards of service, presentation, and guest satisfaction
  • Assist with overall lodge operations and management duties
  • Handle guest feedback, requests, and complaints professionally
  • Conduct regular service inspections and implement continuous improvements
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, safety, and operational standards
  • Assist with administration, reporting, and departmental planning

PACKAGE:

  • R25,000 – R30,000 CTC (Negotiable – DOE)
  • Live-in position
