Job Description
Assistant Housekeeping at Holiday Inn Bangor. Works alongside the housekeeping team to clean and inspect rooms, maintain public spaces, and report maintenance issues.
Responsibilities
- Inspect rooms after cleaning to ensure cleanliness standards are met.
- Assist with changing bed linens, restocking supplies, vacuuming, and dusting.
- Report cases of property damage to supervisor.
- Oversee a team of Housekeepers and Housepersons.
- Clean rooms as needed.
- Return any guest property left behind.
- Keep workstations and equipment clean, organized, and functional.
- Collaborate with other staff to meet hotel standards and accommodate special guest needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- High school education or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of hotel housekeeping experience preferred.
- Ability to stand continuously 90% of the time.
- Capable of lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs.
- Work independently.
- Friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Full-time availability (30-40 hours) with flexibility for shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
Preferred Skills
- Previous customer-facing experience.
- Strong teamwork ability.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and procedures.
- Attention to detail.
- Second language proficiency advantages.
