My client is seeking an experienced sourcing professional to take ownership of category strategy across food categories, with a focus on fresh or short shelf-life products, within a global procurement environment.
You will lead category strategy, supplier selection, and commercial negotiations, delivering value across cost, quality, and service while supporting wider sustainability and supply chain objectives.
This is a high-visibility role working closely with suppliers, logistics, finance, and internal stakeholders, with exposure across regional and global teams.
This role offers strong long-term career progression within a growing, international procurement function. You’ll have the opportunity to:
- Step into broader category ownership across additional food and non-food areas
- Gain exposure to global sourcing projects and cross-market initiatives
- Progress into senior category leadership or procurement management roles
- Develop your commercial and strategic capability within a high-performing team
- Work closely with senior stakeholders, accelerating your career development
This is a genuine opportunity for someone looking to step up and build a long-term career in strategic procurement, not just a transactional buying role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned to business needs and market insight
- Lead sourcing activities including RFI, RFP, RFQ and contract negotiations
- Manage supplier performance through KPIs, SLAs and ongoing reviews
- Drive value through data analysis, benchmarking and market intelligence
- Ensure alignment between sourcing strategy and operational/logistics requirements
- Support global sourcing initiatives and sustainability objectives
Required experience:
- 4+ years’ experience in sourcing, buying or category management
- Background in contract catering, wholesale, or retail buying environments
- Experience in fresh or short shelf-life categories preferred
- Strong commercial acumen and proven negotiation skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing ability
- CIPS qualification beneficial but not essential
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, forward-thinking procurement function where you’ll have real ownership, visibility, and the chance to shape category strategy at scale.
If you’re looking for a role that combines autonomy, progression, and genuine long-term career development, this is a strong next step.
