Role Description The Steward cum Guest Relations Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based off Negombo This position combines front-of-house guest interaction with food and beverage service responsibilities. Day-to-day tasks include welcoming guests, assisting with check-in and check-out, providing information about hotel facilities, and responding promptly to guest requests and inquiries. The role also involves setting up and clearing tables, serving food and beverages in accordance with service standards, and maintaining cleanliness and order in dining and public areas. The Steward cum Guest Relations Assistant works closely with the hotel team to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience, supports special events as needed, and upholds the brand’s service and presentation standards.
Qualifications
- Strong Customer Service skills, with a focus on creating positive guest experiences and handling inquiries or concerns professionally.
- Effective Communication abilities, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and a courteous, service-oriented approach.
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including basic food service etiquette, menu understanding, and hygienic handling of food and drinks.
- Experience or aptitude in Food Service tasks such as table setup, order taking, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in service areas.
- Capability to participate in Training activities, learn standard operating procedures quickly, and apply feedback to improve performance.
- Prior experience in hospitality, hotels, or restaurants is an advantage; familiarity with boutique or luxury environments is beneficial.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and to stand for extended periods in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic proficiency in English; additional language skills are an asset.
