Purpose and Scope of Position (Job Summary)

The Seasonal Waiter / Waitress is responsible for delivering exceptional food and beverage service to guests while creating a welcoming and memorable dining experience. The role supports the Food & Beverage team during peak business periods by ensuring efficient service, maintaining outlet standards, and contributing to overall guest satisfaction in accordance with company standards and policies.

1. Main Duties (Job Related Duties)

Guest Service

  • Welcome guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Escort guests to their tables where required.
  • Present menus and explain daily specials and promotions.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure all guest requests are handled efficiently and courteously.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience and respond promptly to any concerns.
  • Upsell menu items and promote food and beverage specials whenever appropriate.
  • Provide recommendations based on guests' preferences.
  • Present bills accurately and process payments according to company procedures.
  • Thank guests and invite them to return.

Food & Beverage Operations

  • Set up and prepare the restaurant before service.
  • Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and fully stocked.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation standards throughout service.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly.
  • Ensure side stations are fully stocked with required supplies.
  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Report any food quality or service issues immediately to the Supervisor.
  • Support buffet, banquet, and special event operations when required.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties.

Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with kitchen, bar, and service teams.
  • Communicate guest requests accurately to the kitchen.
  • Assist colleagues during busy service periods.
  • Attend departmental briefings and training sessions.
  • Support new team members whenever required.

Cash Handling

  • Process cash, card, and room charge transactions accurately.
  • Balance bills and payments as required.
  • Follow all cash handling procedures.

Health & Safety

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Follow HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety procedures.
  • Report accidents or hazards immediately.

Miscellaneous

  • Wear the correct uniform and maintain professional grooming standards.
  • Ensure all company policies and service standards are followed.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the Supervisor or Outlet Manager.
