Room Attendant

Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and customer service-oriented Room Attendant to join the Housekeeping Department.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, organize, restore and restock guest rooms or other hotel areas according to established standards.
  • Use cleaning techniques and chemicals in compliance with safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Restock and account for Minibar items during service.
  • Deliver and replenish guestroom welcome amenities as per established policy.
  • Account for inventory items and supplies, replenishing as required.
  • Organize, stock and maintain cleanliness of assigned floor storerooms as well as guest areas.
  • Report items requiring maintenance for immediate and proactive resolution.
  • Clean rooms following safety standards to ensure personal safety and security.
  • Report customer service issues or concerns to management promptly.
  • Partner with housemen, laundry attendants, housekeeping supervisors and management to ensure rooms are serviced in accordance with guest arrivals and queues.
  • Stock housekeeping carts to ensure supplies for the shift are accessible and available, taking care not to overstock the cart.
  • Report guest room and equipment defects to management to ensure damage and defects are logged and repaired.
  • Perform standard cleaning of guest rooms or prepare rooms to turndown standards depending on shift.
  • Undertake any other ad hoc responsibilities, as required.

Compensation

Hourly wage is $30.97.

Qualifications

  • Must have a true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Must be able to work various shifts especially Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays (mornings, afternoons, and evenings).
  • Must have good organization skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimum or no supervision.
  • Must be an excellent team player with a positive and helpful attitude.
  • Must be physically fit to perform and complete all duties as required.
  • Must be able to provide genuine service to all guests.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of luxury hotel standards of service.
  • Previous housekeeping experience in office, resorts, cruise ships, or hotels is an asset.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push moderate weight.
  • Fast‑paced and physical position requiring prior cleaning experience and communication with guests.

Visa Requirements

Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
