WOODS Specialty Cafe & Roastery is a fast-growing Saudi specialty coffee brand operating across cafés, roasting, e-commerce, wholesale, catering, and product development.

We are looking for a commercially driven and highly resourceful Product & Business Development Specialist to identify, evaluate, and execute new product and business opportunities that support the growth of WOODS.

This role combines product sourcing, coffee product development, supplier management, market research, catering sales, partnerships, and new revenue generation.

Role Objective

The primary objective of this role is to identify and convert new opportunities into commercially viable products, partnerships, contracts, and revenue streams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for researching new products, developing new coffee product lines, identifying suppliers and manufacturers, generating catering and B2B opportunities, and managing projects from initial concept through commercial launch.

Key Responsibilities1. New Product Research & Sourcing

  • Research and identify new products that match the WOODS brand, customer preferences, and commercial objectives.
  • Source products such as:
  • Ceramic cups and drinkware
  • Coffee brewing tools and accessories
  • Corporate gifts and merchandise
  • Retail and e-commerce products
  • Packaging and branded products
  • Identify and evaluate local and international suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Request samples, quotations, technical specifications, and minimum order quantities.
  • Compare suppliers based on quality, cost, lead time, reliability, customization capabilities, and payment terms.
  • Negotiate product prices, production terms, packaging, delivery schedules, and private-label requirements.
  • Maintain an updated supplier and product opportunity database.

2. Coffee Product & Production Line Development

  • Research and evaluate opportunities for new coffee-related products and production lines, including:
  • Specialty instant coffee
  • Drip coffee bags
  • Coffee capsules
  • Cold brew concentrates
  • Ready-to-drink coffee products
  • Coffee gift boxes
  • Seasonal and limited-edition products
  • Coordinate with the Roastery, Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales teams to develop new products.
  • Prepare preliminary feasibility studies covering:
  • Market demand
  • Target customers
  • Production requirements
  • Cost of goods
  • Selling price
  • Gross profit margin
  • Minimum order quantity
  • Investment requirements
  • Expected sales volume
  • Manage product development projects from initial idea and sampling through testing, approval, packaging, and launch.
  • Monitor product performance after launch and recommend improvements.

3. Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities that can generate additional revenue for WOODS.
  • Research potential partnerships, distribution channels, corporate accounts, retail opportunities, and strategic collaborations.
  • Develop relationships with companies, government entities, universities, hospitals, hotels, event organizers, and other potential clients.
  • Prepare business proposals, presentations, quotations, and partnership offers.
  • Manage the business development pipeline from lead generation through negotiation and closing.
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to identify gaps and emerging opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, client communication, proposals, and deal status.

4. Catering & Corporate Sales Development

  • Identify and approach potential catering clients and corporate event opportunities.
  • Develop catering packages for:
  • Corporate events
  • Conferences and exhibitions
  • Product launches
  • Private events
  • Government and institutional events
  • Build relationships with event agencies, venues, corporate procurement teams, and event organizers.
  • Conduct site visits and gather event requirements when required.
  • Coordinate with Operations to ensure that sold events can be delivered according to WOODS quality and service standards.
  • Follow up on quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and close catering agreements.
  • Support the development of recurring catering and corporate contracts.

5. Commercial & Financial Evaluation

  • Evaluate each opportunity based on revenue potential, gross margin, investment, operational complexity, and strategic fit.
  • Prepare business cases and recommendations for management approval.
  • Ensure that proposed products and projects meet the company’s profitability requirements.
  • Track actual performance against approved projections.
  • Recommend stopping, improving, or scaling products and initiatives based on data.

6. Cross-Functional Project Management

  • Coordinate product and business development initiatives with:
  • Roastery
  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • E-commerce
  • Supply Chain and Procurement
  • Quality
  • Finance
  • Operations
  • Establish clear project timelines, responsibilities, milestones, and launch dates.
  • Follow up with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure timely execution.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Development, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following:
  • Business development
  • Product development
  • Product sourcing
  • B2B sales
  • Catering sales
  • Food and beverage
  • Retail or consumer products
  • Strong commercial and analytical thinking.
  • Experience in supplier sourcing, quotation comparison, and commercial negotiations.
  • Ability to prepare feasibility studies, business cases, and financial evaluations.
  • Strong project management and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM or project management systems.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to attend supplier, client, and event meetings when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in specialty coffee, cafés, food and beverage, hospitality, catering, or retail.
  • Experience working with factories, manufacturers, packaging suppliers, or international sourcing platforms.
  • Knowledge of product costing, gross margin, pricing, and break-even analysis.
  • Experience developing private-label or branded products.
  • Existing network of corporate clients, event organizers, suppliers, or manufacturers.
  • Understanding of Saudi market trends and customer preferences.
  • Experience managing products from concept to commercial launch.
