We are seeking a hard-working, hygienic, and dependable Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food to our valued guests. The ideal candidate will be a proactive team player who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, chopping, portioning, and marinating ingredients.
- Prepare and organize mise en place ahead of service to ensure the kitchen is ready for smooth and timely food production.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of all kitchen surfaces, equipment, utensils, and cooking stations throughout the shift.
- Wash, sanitize, and properly store all crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen tools following restaurant standards.
- Receive and store incoming food supplies and raw materials, checking for quality, quantity, and proper labelling.
- Ensure correct rotation and storage of ingredients following FIFO (First In, First Out) principles to minimize wastage.
- Monitor stock levels and promptly notify the Head Chef or Store Manager when items require replenishment.
- Safely operate kitchen appliances and equipment under the supervision of qualified kitchen staff.
- Dispose of kitchen waste responsibly and maintain proper segregation of food, recyclable, and general waste.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations at all times within the kitchen premises.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the In-Charge or Appropriate Authority.
Requirements
- Experience: At least 2 years
- Education: ssc (vocational)
- Skills: kitchen operations, food preparation, kitchen sanitation, culinary skills
