Job Description

The Night Auditor is expected to provide excellent customer service to all guests, offering ultimate service with a smile and promoting the brand standards we are known for—uncompromised service with a focus on guest satisfaction. This position is responsible for ensuring all guest‑related financials are accurately entered and accounted for, reporting this information up the chain, and making corrections as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all brand required training and all required Safety & Health training.
  • Perform all audit procedures as set forth by the Hotel and company on a daily basis.
  • Verify the status of all wake‑up call requests and ensure they are properly handled.
  • Balance all cash receipts and work performed during the audit shift.
  • Make deposits of cash.
  • Prepare the front office for the ‘A’ shift and reset day’s business.
  • Act as a Guest Service representative and manager on duty during the evening hours.
  • Act as PBX operator during the audit shift.
  • Attend and actively participate in all front office meetings.
  • Participate in all training and cross‑training programs.
  • Greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  • Perform any job‑related duties as requested by supervisor.

Necessary Skills

  • Ability to understand and use math concepts to manage hotel financials and clearly communicate financial information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form.
  • Ability to carry out specific oral or written instructions with precision.
  • Willingness and ability to adapt as necessary to meet business demands.
  • Focus on guest satisfaction and project this desire through positive interaction with guests while striving to provide an excellent experience for all guests.
  • Mastery of basic mathematical concepts, including subtraction, multiplication, addition, division, computing ratios, rates, and percentages, drawing and interpreting bar graphs, and performing basic arithmetic computations involving American monetary units.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to climb stairs.
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast‑pace environment.
  • Must be able to use a ladder and step stool.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 25 pounds periodically.
  • Must be able to pull up to 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Must have visual acuity to distinguish between objects both near and far (with or without corrective lenses).
