Compensation: $150,000-$175,000 annually + Executive Bonus Plan
POSITION SUMMARY
Country Club Lodging, LLC is seeking a visionary, results-driven Multi-Unit General Manager to lead the strategic and operational performance of two Marriott-branded hotels totaling 298 guestrooms in Kansas City.
This executive leader is responsible for maximizing financial performance, elevating guest experience, developing high-performing teams, ensuring Marriott brand compliance, and driving operational excellence across both properties. The role serves as the senior operational leader and is accountable for profitability, market positioning, owner relations, associate engagement, guest satisfaction, and long-term asset value.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional hospitality leader with proven success managing complex, full-service hotel operations and leading multiple executive teams in a multi-property environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Leadership & Strategy
• Serve as the senior leader responsible for the strategic direction, operational performance, financial success, and market positioning of both hotels.
• Develop and execute annual business plans, operating objectives, and measurable performance goals aligned with ownership objectives and Marriott standards.
• Lead, inspire, and develop executive leadership teams across Operations, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Rooms, Engineering, Food & Beverage, Human Resources, and Housekeeping.
• Build a culture of accountability, servant leadership, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and associate engagement.
• Drive organizational change, process improvement, innovation, shared resources, and operational efficiencies across both properties.
• Represent Country Club Lodging professionally with ownership, Marriott, community partners, vendors, and associates.
Financial Leadership & Business Performance
• Assume full P&L responsibility for both hotels, including revenue, profitability, return on investment, budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning.
• Analyze financial performance and identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost control, labor productivity, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor key metrics including RevPAR, ADR, Occupancy, GOP, NOI, EBITDA, Flow Through, labor costs, and departmental profitability.
• Lead annual budget preparation and forecasting with ownership and department leaders.
• Evaluate business opportunities, vendor agreements, capital investments, and operational initiatives to maximize return and long-term asset value.
Operational Excellence
• Provide executive oversight of Rooms, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Housekeeping, Sales & Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Security.
• Ensure seamless execution across both properties while maintaining each hotel's unique brand identity.
• Conduct regular property inspections and ensure readiness for Marriott Quality Assurance inspections, ownership reviews, health inspections, and regulatory audits.
• Develop standardized operating procedures and sustainable corrective action plans that improve efficiency and consistency.
• Champion technology, automation, and operational best practices to improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
Revenue & Commercial Leadership
• Partner with Revenue Management and Sales & Marketing leadership to maximize market share, occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, group production, and profitability.
• Develop strategies targeting transient, corporate, group, social, and catering business.
• Analyze STR reports, competitive intelligence, demand forecasts, booking trends, and distribution channels to identify opportunities.
• Build strategic partnerships within the Kansas City business and hospitality community to strengthen market presence and drive business growth.
Guest Experience & Brand Excellence
• Champion exceptional guest experiences and a culture of personalized hospitality, proactive service recovery, and memorable stays.
• Monitor Marriott Medallia, Intent to Recommend, online reputation, and guest feedback to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Personally oversee high-profile guest concerns, VIP experiences, ownership guests, and escalated service recovery situations.
• Ensure consistent execution of Marriott service standards while preserving each property's unique identity.
Talent Management & Organizational Development
• Recruit, hire, mentor, coach, and retain exceptional executive leaders.
• Develop succession plans and leadership pipelines for key positions.
• Conduct talent reviews, performance evaluations, coaching, and leadership development planning.
• Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning, talent acquisition, compensation, associate engagement, and compliance.
• Promote internal advancement, accountability, diversity, inclusion, and a workplace where associates feel valued and empowered.
Owner Relations & Asset Management
• Serve as the primary executive liaison between ownership, asset management, Marriott International, and corporate leadership.
• Prepare monthly business reviews, financial reports, capital planning presentations, and operational summaries.
• Communicate proactively regarding performance, market conditions, risks, opportunities, and operational priorities.
• Provide strategic recommendations regarding capital improvements, renovations, property improvement plans, and long-term asset preservation.
Risk Management, Safety & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with Marriott Brand Standards, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, EEOC, wage and hour laws, food safety regulations, and all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Oversee emergency preparedness, business continuity, crisis management, and disaster recovery planning.
• Promote workplace safety and protect company assets through sound operational controls, financial oversight, and risk mitigation.
Community & Industry Leadership
• Serve as a public representative of both hotels and Country Club Lodging within the Kansas City hospitality community.
• Build relationships with community leaders, tourism organizations, convention and visitors bureaus, chambers of commerce, corporate partners, and Marriott representatives.
• Represent the hotels at civic events, industry conferences, and networking functions.
• Promote the hotels as employers of choice through workforce development and hospitality education partnerships.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive hotel leadership experience, including at least 5 years as a General Manager in a full-service or lifestyle hotel.
• Multi-property leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Marriott brand experience highly preferred.
• Demonstrated success managing hotel P&Ls, budgets, forecasting, and revenue optimization.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations, brand standards, quality assurance, and operating systems.
• Proven ability to lead executive teams and large associate populations.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and hotel management systems.
