Laundry Attendant – Reserve Jobs in Asheville, USA at Biltmore
The starting pay range for this position begins at $17.09/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements.
Laundry Attendants assist with the provision of laundry cleaning activities in the central laundry facility that will ensure the timely delivery of clean linens to the hotel(s) and food and beverage facilities operated by the company. Responsibilities include sorting, classifying, washing, drying, ironing, folding, and packaging clean linens in accordance with established standards. The Laundry Attendant will also provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company.
Shifts
Shifts can vary, but are generally between 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Thursday – Sunday. Weekend and holiday availability required.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience working in a commercial/industrial laundry and/or housekeeping environment preferred.
- Must be able to operate commercial laundry machinery and equipment.
- Must have excellent attention to detail.
- Must be able to multitask, organize, plan, and prioritize.
- Must exercise good judgment and take initiative where appropriate.
- Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Must have commitment to delivering world‑class customer service.
- Must have basic English language comprehension, writing, and speaking skills, and be able to respond appropriately to requests and inquiries.
- Must follow directions and instructions.
- Must possess a valid NC Driver’s License with clean driving record and must be at least 18 years of age to drive box truck.

Job Duties
- Count items for the day and inventory outgoing items.
- Maintain inventories for damage/loss.
- Inspect for quality control according to established standards.
- Sort and store all soiled linen; weigh linen and place into appropriate carts.
- Manage flow and processing of linens efficiently.
- Sort and separate damaged or stained linen to be repaired or converted to rags.
- Operate ironing and folding machinery.
- Observe safety rules and maintain a safe environment.
- Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions of laundry equipment to supervisor.
- Maintain facility, linen carts and supplies in neat and organized manner in accordance with departmental standards.
- Complete administrative work related to receipt, processing, delivery, inspections, etc.
- Drive box truck across Estate locations to deliver laundry as needed.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, carry and pull/push up to 50–75 lbs on a regular basis; must occasionally pull/push up to 100 lbs.
- Must stand, walk, bend, stoop during the shift (8 hours).
- Must be able to bend, reach, and kneel.
- Must be able to twist and grip items.
- Must respond to visual and audible cues, and understand and address issues.
- Must tolerate varying noise levels.
- Must work in warm/hot temperatures.
