We’re looking for a Kitchen Assistant / Cook to join our team at Great British Car Journey’s Filling Station Café in Ambergate.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment, takes pride in preparing quality food, and loves delivering a great visitor experience.
You’ll be supporting the day-to-day running of our busy café kitchen, helping prepare and serve a range of food including breakfasts, lunches, light bites and specials.
Duties will include:
- Food preparation and cooking
- Supporting smooth kitchen service during busy periods
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
- Washing up and keeping kitchen areas organised
- Assisting with stock rotation and deliveries
- Ensuring food is presented to a high standard
- Working closely with the front-of-house team to keep service running efficiently
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has previous kitchen, café or catering experience
- Can confidently assist with food prep and cooking
- Works well under pressure in a busy environment
- Is reliable, hardworking and proactive
- Has a positive, friendly attitude
- Understands food hygiene and kitchen safety standards
- Can work flexibly, including weekends
