We are looking for an experienced and meticulously organised Kitchen Assistant to join our team.

Position Summary: The Kitchen Assistant plays an essential role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. Working closely with the culinary team, this role is responsible for maintaining immaculate hygiene standards, managing food preparation tasks, and ensuring all equipment and workstations are spotless. Your efficiency behind the scenes directly impacts our ability to deliver high-quality, seamless service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the food preparation areas are clean and hygienic at all times;
- Washing utensils and dishes and ensuring sure they are stored appropriately;
- Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients;
- Washing, peeling, chopping, cutting and cooking foodstuffs and assisting to prepare menu choices;
- Disposing of rubbish;
- Cleaning the food preparation equipment, floors and other kitchen tools or areas;
- Assisting with deliveries and shopping requirements;
- Assisting with the monitoring of inventory;
- Reporting all damaged and/or faulty equipment;
- Packaging leftover meals upon request;
- Maintain familiarity with menu items, specials, and kitchen information;
- Meet with managers and waiting staff regularly in order to learn about menu changes and daily specials as well as discuss upcoming reservations and customers with special requirements;
- Always strive towards best customer satisfaction;
- Co-operate and communicate with all serving and kitchen colleagues;
- Assist with the training of new team members;
- Provide additional support within the team as necessary;
- Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
Requirements will include:
- Proven experience as a kitchen assistant, kitchen porter, or a similar role within a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Basic knowledge of food safety regulations, safe food handling practices, and emergency kitchen protocols.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house staff.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
- Flexibility to work various hours, including weekends and holidays.
- EU passport holder is mandatory. Flexibility to travel is a key part of this role.
- Based in Amsterdam.
- A valid driving licence is desirable.
- Available to start immediately.
