Role Description The Junior Cook will support daily kitchen operations for Shishi Izakaya Lounge & Nightclub, Malverde Tequileria, and Bali Bulldog, ensuring consistent preparation and presentation of menu items according to company standards and recipes. This full-time, on-site role is based in Kuta and involves preparing ingredients, cooking assigned dishes, and assisting with mise en place for service. The Junior Cook will maintain kitchen cleanliness, follow food safety and hygiene standards, and assist with receiving and storing supplies. The role includes working closely with senior kitchen team members, following instructions accurately, minimizing waste, and supporting smooth service during busy periods. The Junior Cook will also help with basic stock rotation, equipment care, and occasional support for special events or menu changes.
Qualifications
- Foundational culinary skills, including basic knife skills, ingredient preparation, and familiarity with common cooking methods.
- Understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper kitchen sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately, with strong attention to detail and consistency in food presentation.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with a positive, respectful attitude toward colleagues and leadership.
- Willingness to learn about Japanese, Latin-inspired, and bar-style cuisine and adapt to changing menus and concepts.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen or relevant culinary training is preferred but not mandatory.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
