Role Description: The Housekeeping Supervisor will oversee daily housekeeping operations to ensure that all rooms, public areas, and facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained. This full-time, on-site role in Sri Lanka includes supervising housekeeping team members, assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing on-the-job guidance and training. The Housekeeping Supervisor will inspect rooms and common areas for cleanliness and quality standards, coordinate with maintenance and front office teams, and manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. The role also involves creating cleaning schedules, handling guest or occupant requests related to housekeeping, and supporting a positive, respectful working environment. The supervisor will ensure adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards and support continuous improvement in housekeeping processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in housekeeping, with prior supervisory or team lead responsibilities in hospitality, facilities management, or a similar environment for 5 years.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to plan schedules, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Ability to train, guide, and motivate a diverse team while fostering a culture of respect, accountability, and collaboration.
- Solid understanding of cleaning procedures, use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and best practices in hygiene and safety.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members, management, and guests or occupants professionally.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation across all areas.
- Basic administrative skills, including record-keeping, inventory control, and reporting any issues or maintenance needs.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
- Secondary education or equivalent; vocational training in hospitality or housekeeping is an advantage.
- Prior experience working in Sri Lanka or familiarity with local workplace practices and regulations is beneficial.
