Role Description The Housekeeping Supervisor is an on-site role located in Toronto, ON. This role is responsible for overseeing daily housekeeping operations to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for seniors and visitors. Day-to-day tasks include assigning and monitoring housekeeping duties, inspecting rooms and common areas, managing laundry services, and maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. The supervisor will train, support, and schedule housekeeping team members, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and infection-control standards. The role also involves responding to resident and family requests in a timely, respectful manner, coordinating with other departments, and documenting maintenance or safety issues for follow-up.

Qualifications

  • Strong supervisory skills, including team leadership, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
  • Proficiency in housekeeping operations, including cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, and safe use of equipment and supplies.
  • Experience with laundry processes, such as sorting, washing, drying, folding, and handling special-care items.
  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and patiently with seniors, families, and colleagues.
  • Previous experience in a senior care, healthcare, or hospitality environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and infection-control practices in residential or care settings.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights for extended periods, with attention to safe work practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in housekeeping, hospitality, or environmental services are an advantage.
