Rosemead House is seeking a refined, service-driven Hotel Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of our luxury boutique hotel in Esquimalt, British Columbia.
As a luxury brand property, Rosemead House is defined by elevated service standards, attention to detail, and a highly personalized guest experience. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with a background in luxury hotel environments who understands the expectations of discerning guests and takes pride in delivering exceptional, memorable stays.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role focused exclusively on hotel operations. As Hotel Director, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience while maintaining the highest standards across all aspects of the property. Unlike a traditional General Manager role, this position is centered on boutique, high-touch hotel operations, where presence, detail, and service excellence are critical.
This position reports directly to the Owner of Rosemead House. You will work in close collaboration with the Food & Beverage Director of Janevca Kitchen and Lounge and the Spa Director of Salt & Ivy, both of whom are located within the same establishment.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations, including front desk and guest services
- Create an exceptional guest experience by delivering personalized, high-quality service from the outset. Establish the hotel’s reputation as a premier destination in the luxury market both nationally and internationally.
- Anticipate guest needs and resolve concerns with professionalism and discretion
- Coordinate and support housekeeping and maintenance to maintain impeccable property standards
- Manage budgets, ensuring operational efficiency and profitability. Monitor financial performance and make strategic adjustments as needed.
- Work closely with sales and marketing team to drive brand awareness and achieve target occupancy levels.
- Develop strategies to attract high-end clientele.
- Identify, engage, and establish partnerships with targeted companies and key stakeholders to promote the Rosemead House brand.
- Effectively manage hospitality partnerships and operational activities to drive results and achieve the hotel’s strategic goals.
- Build and maintain business relationships within the hospitality industry by actively participating in civic and trade associations, conferences, and events that promote professional growth and industry knowledge.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of financial, human resources, legal, administrative, operational, and sales & marketing functions as they relate to hospitality management.
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure presentation aligns with luxury brand standards
- Manage reservations, occupancy, and rate strategies in collaboration with ownership
- Provide hands-on support during peak periods, including guest arrivals and departures
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements
- Support hiring, training, and scheduling of hotel staff with a focus on service excellence
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in a luxury hotel or boutique high-end hospitality environment
- Proven ability to deliver exceptional, personalized guest service
- Strong financial and business acumen, including experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills to motivate teams and build strong guest relationships.
- Strong understanding of luxury service standards and guest expectations
- Hands-on, detail-oriented leader with a proactive and polished approach
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience with hotel property management systems (PMS)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management preferred
Compensation: $90,000- $120,000 annually (+ benefits), based on experience with a luxury brand.
