Summary
To assist in serving and preparing nutritionally balanced meals according to a prescribed menu plan and established safety standard.

When applicable, the work of an employee in trainee status in this position shall be overseen by a fully qualified individual. An employee in trainee status shall meet the minimum qualifications within the period of time specified on the SJD, not to exceed one year of being hired into this position.
Responsibilities
Participates in the preparation for, and the setup of, individual trays for food distribution.
Sets-up for meal service, takes food orders, serves residents and cleans ladies lounge and Tarr dining rooms.
Operates dishwashing machine, food disposal, toaster and heat on demand unit.
Assists with the passing of trays, collecting of trays and cleaning the tables and chairs on the LEDU units, Welch units and areas served for guest meal service.
Stocks all work areas and unit kitchenettes.
Cleans all floor areas in dining rooms, kitchen and dishwashing areas.
May be involved in cooking or otherwise preparing foods as directed by cook, chef, or dietary management team.
Exercises responsibility for training new employees.
Performs extra cleaning assignments as directed by shift leaders or dietary management team.
May be involved in procedures for receiving, documenting, and tray preparation relating to both regular and special diets.
