Kiawah Island Club is seeking an energetic, service-focused Food & Beverage Manager to join the leadership team at The Marsh House. Overlooking the beautiful Kiawah River, The Marsh House is a vibrant gathering place where members and their guests enjoy exceptional coastal cuisine, handcrafted cocktails, and warm Low country hospitality in a relaxed yet refined setting.

The Food & Beverage Manager will be responsible for leading the daily front-of-house operations, ensuring memorable member experiences through exceptional service, engaged leadership, and operational excellence. This individual will work closely with the Clubhouse Manager and Culinary Team to create a welcoming atmosphere while upholding the high standards that define Kiawah Island Club.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and inspire front-of-house team members to deliver exceptional hospitality and personalized service.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement while promoting the values and standards of Kiawah Island Club.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and developing service staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and recognition to encourage professional growth.
  • Lead by example during service, maintaining a visible presence on the floor and supporting the team during peak business periods.

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily dining room operations, ensuring smooth execution of lunch, dinner, bar, and special event service.
  • Ensure consistency in service standards, food presentation, cleanliness, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinate dining room floor plans, reservations, seating assignments, and staffing to maximize efficiency and Member satisfaction.
  • Monitor member preferences and special requests to create personalized dining experiences.
  • Assist with scheduling, staffing levels, and daily operational planning.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while ensuring compliance with club standards.

Member Experience

  • Develop genuine relationships with Members and guests by delivering attentive, personalized hospitality.
  • Resolve member concerns promptly and professionally, turning service opportunities into lasting impressions.
  • Anticipate member needs and continuously look for ways to elevate the overall dining experience.
  • Partner with leadership to execute holiday events, family programming, wine dinners, themed events, and other special Member experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with Culinary, Recreation, Golf, Club Events, and other departments to ensure seamless member experiences throughout the property.
  • Maintain open communication with leadership regarding staffing, operations, and Member feedback.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute ideas that enhance service, efficiency, and team engagement.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1–3 years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience in a private club, luxury resort, upscale restaurant, or hospitality environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing service teams in a fast-paced dining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and elevated casual dining operations.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Experience with point-of-sale and reservation management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Private club or luxury hospitality experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of coastal cuisine, craft cocktails, and outdoor dining operations.
  • Experience managing high-volume seasonal business and special events.
  • Serv Safe and alcohol service certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
