Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to lead daily operations at one of our flagship, high-volume corporate hospitality spaces in Boston. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee front-of-house service operations, lead a dedicated service team, and collaborate closely with the culinary production team to deliver flawless guest experiences.
The ideal candidate will strike a balance between maintaining high-quality service standards, optimizing revenue and payroll budgets, and fostering a positive team culture that reduces turnover.
Key Responsibilities
- Service & Execution: Supervise and orchestrate culinary service efficiently, ensuring all events strictly adhere to established execution orders and timelines.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and schedule the service team and support staff (including setup, utilities, maintenance, and security). Conduct ongoing training to maintain high service standards.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between the culinary production team and the front-of-house service team; keep culinary teams informed of accurate, real-time guest counts and menu adjustments.
- Financial & Resource Management: Manage daily beverage consumption, optimize revenue/payroll budgets, and meet budgeted productivity metrics without sacrificing quality.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce all local health department rules, liquor laws/regulations, and standard safety/emergency procedures. Oversee opening and closing site inspection duties to maintain pristine cleanliness.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of progressive food and beverage management experience, ideally within a high-end conference center, luxury hotel, or premium corporate hospitality environment.
- Supervisory Skills: Proven experience leading, training, and motivating a hospitality service team.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of various service styles (buffet, plated, reception), food and beverage preparation techniques, and strict health/sanitation guidelines.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with sophisticated corporate clients and team associates in a courteous, empathetic, and discreet manner.
- Physical & Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work flexible, long hours as event schedules require. Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods and lift/move objects up to 25 pounds.
Compensation & Total Rewards
- Base Salary: $65,000 – $70,000
