Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Food and Beverage Management role based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Food and Beverage Manager oversees daily operations of restaurants, bars, and room service, ensuring consistent quality, efficient service, and high guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include planning menus in collaboration with culinary teams, monitoring food and beverage presentation, and maintaining hygiene and safety standards in all service areas. The role manages staffing schedules, trains team members on service standards, and provides ongoing coaching to support performance and professional growth. The manager also monitors inventory and supplier relationships, controls costs, analyzes sales and guest feedback, and works with hotel leadership to develop promotions and improve the overall food and beverage experience.
Qualifications
- Strong Food Service and Food & Beverage management skills, including oversight of service operations, quality control, and cost management.
- Proven Customer Service and Communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests, colleagues, and vendors.
- Foundational Culinary Skills sufficient to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff on menus, presentation, and service standards.
- Experience in supervising or leading hospitality teams, including scheduling, training, and performance guidance.
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and health and safety best practices.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with basic hotel or restaurant management systems and standard office software.
- Prior experience in hotel food and beverage operations is preferred; a diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
