Role Description The Food and Beverage Assistant is a part-time, on-site role located at Staybridge Suites® in Oakville, ON. This role supports daily food and beverage operations, including preparing and setting up the breakfast buffet and other refreshments, replenishing items, and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant service area. The Food and Beverage Assistant welcomes guests, responds to questions about menu items, and provides attentive service to ensure a positive dining experience. Responsibilities also include basic food preparation, assisting with inventory and stock rotation, following food safety and hygiene standards, and collaborating with the wider hotel team to support guest satisfaction and brand standards.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Food Preparation and Food Service to handle basic food handling, buffet setup, and presentation.
  • Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills to interact courteously with guests and respond to their needs promptly.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Food & Beverage operations to support buffet service, replenishment, and cleanliness standards.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to work with team members and provide clear, friendly information to guests.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or a hotel environment is an asset.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift light to moderate loads as required for food and beverage setup.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; formal certification is an advantage.
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
