SUMMARY:

A well-established 4-star hotel in Plettenberg Bay is seeking an experienced and passionate Food & Beverage Manager to lead and oversee all food and beverage operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving service excellence, managing restaurant and bar operations, controlling costs, leading teams, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests. This role is ideal for a hospitality professional with strong operational expertise, leadership ability, and a hands-on management style.

We are seeking an individual who can maintain high standards while continuously improving service delivery, staff performance, and guest satisfaction.

POSITION INFO:

REQUIREMENT:

  • RSA ID and legal residence essential
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Food & Beverage Manager within a 4-star hotel environment
  • Strong knowledge of restaurant, bar, banqueting, and food service operations
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent guest relations and customer service ability
  • Strong understanding of stock control, purchasing, cost management, and budgeting
  • Experience with staff training, performance management, and scheduling
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Professional, hands-on, and service-driven approach
  • Own transport essential
  • Stable employment history preferred
  • Hospitality qualification advantageous

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all Food & Beverage operations across the property
  • Ensure exceptional guest experiences and service delivery standards
  • Manage restaurant, bar, and event service teams
  • Monitor and control stock levels, purchasing, and departmental costs
  • Implement and maintain service standards and operational procedures
  • Lead, train, mentor, and develop Food & Beverage staff
  • Manage staff rosters, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health regulations
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Monitor guest feedback and implement continuous improvements
  • Assist with budgeting, reporting, forecasting, and departmental planning
