Role Description The Event Manager is a full-time, on-site position based at Infinity Bay Spa & Beach Resort in Roatán. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing a variety of events, including weddings, group retreats, corporate gatherings, and special resort activities. Daily tasks include managing event inquiries, meeting with clients to define event requirements, preparing proposals and budgets, and coordinating logistics such as venue setup, catering, décor, entertainment, and audio-visual needs. The Event Manager will collaborate closely with resort departments (front office, F&B, spa, housekeeping, and maintenance) to ensure seamless delivery and exceptional guest experiences. The role also involves supervising event staff on-site, overseeing timelines, resolving issues in real time, and conducting post-event evaluations to drive continuous improvement. In addition, the Event Manager will support event marketing efforts, maintain vendor relationships, and ensure all events align with the resort’s service standards and brand values.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in event planning, coordination, and on-site event management, preferably in hospitality, resorts, or luxury venues.
- Strong client relationship skills, including the ability to understand guest needs, present tailored proposals, and manage expectations professionally.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities, with proven success handling multiple events, timelines, and priorities simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional resort teams and external vendors.
- Experience with budgeting, vendor negotiation, and basic contract review related to events.
- Proficiency with standard office and event management tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentations, email, and event planning software or systems).
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.
- High attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a calm, guest-focused approach in fast-paced situations.
- Fluency in English required; additional language skills (such as Spanish) are a strong advantage.
