Job Description
The Public Area Houseperson is responsible for housekeeping tasks assigned in the event centre and promotes a positive image of the event centre to guests and fellow employees. This role requires a pleasant, friendly, and courteous demeanor, and the ability to address problems and special requests as they arise. The Public Area Houseperson cleans and maintains the appearance of the public areas, restrooms, employee areas, administrative offices, and other assigned areas while following safety guidelines, policies, and procedures to achieve the hotel’s standards of quality.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or work‑related equivalent
- Minimum 2 years cleaning experience preferred
- Carpet and window cleaning experience an asset
Skills and
Physical Requirements
- May require lifting weight of up to 50 lbs
- Ability to lift and handle repetitive movement
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, high‑volume, fast‑paced, and multi‑tasking environment
- Ability to work and thrive in a team‑oriented environment and work independently
- Attention to detail and accountability
- Must be available for shift work (days, evenings, weekends, and holidays)
- WHMIS and Biohazard Clean up experience is an asset
