We’re looking for a disciplined, detail-driven Commis Chef to join a world-class fine dining kitchen in the Cape Winelands. This is a precision environment where refinement, respect for ingredients and absolute consistency are non-negotiable.

As Commis Chef, you will support your section in the preparation and execution of refined, seasonal tasting menus. You will be expected to learn quickly, work cleanly and uphold the highest culinary standards at all times.
This role is about foundation: knife skills, organisation, discipline and respect for process.

Assist with mise en place and daily preparation for service

Execute assigned tasks with accuracy and care

Maintain impeccable hygiene and kitchen cleanliness

Follow recipes and plating specifications precisely

Ensure stock is stored and rotated correctly

Uphold food safety standards at all times

1–2 years’ experience in a professional kitchen (fine dining preferred)

Strong knife skills and attention to detail

Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
