Position Summary
The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for driving revenue by identifying, securing, and managing catering opportunities. This role serves as the primary contact for clients, guiding them from the initial inquiry phase through menu selection, contract signing, and final event planning. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional who excels at building lasting relationships and coordinating with internal teams to ensure every event is executed to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Generation: Proactively prospect for new business through networking, local partnerships, and industry events. Respond to all incoming inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Client Consultation: Conduct site tours and client meetings to understand specific event needs. Provide tailored recommendations for menus, room configurations, and event logistics.
- Administrative Management: Draft and issue accurate proposals, contracts, and invoices. Maintain meticulous records in the company’s CRM system to ensure follow-ups are tracked and targets are met.
- Event Coordination: Create comprehensive Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and distribute them to the kitchen and service teams. Lead internal meetings to ensure all operational departments are aligned on event requirements.
- Relationship Management: Act as the face of the company for assigned events. Foster long-term partnerships with corporate clients, event planners, and local businesses to generate repeat business.
- Reporting: Track individual sales performance against monthly and quarterly targets. Provide updates to leadership on sales pipeline, projected revenue, and client feedback.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of experience in catering sales, banquet operations, or event management.
- Skills:
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client presentations and inter-departmental coordination.
- Organization: Strong ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and conflicting priorities simultaneously.
- Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and experience with hospitality management software or CRM systems.
- Financial: Basic understanding of catering profit margins, menu pricing, and contract terms.
- Professionalism: A high level of polish and the ability to maintain a positive attitude during high-pressure events.
Working Conditions
