Job description:
We are recruiting for an experienced Catering Manager to lead the catering and dining operation at a prestigious upmarket Retirement Estate in Plattekloof, Cape Town.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who understands the importance of delivering exceptional dining experiences to residents while maintaining strong financial, operational and service standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily catering operation, managing and developing the team, ensuring high food quality and service standards, controlling budgets and stock, and driving an exceptional resident dining experience.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric
- Hospitality Qualification
- Minimum 5 years' experience gained within an upmarket hotel or restaurant environment
- Minimum 3 years' management experience within a hospitality or catering operation
- Strong food costing, GP management and stock control knowledge
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent planning, organisational and communication abilities
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and quality standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily catering and dining operation
- Lead, train and develop the catering and kitchen teams
- Manage food costs, gross profits and stock controls
- Ensure exceptional food quality, presentation and service standards
- Drive resident satisfaction and dining excellence
- Maintain compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Manage budgets and operational performance
- Drive efficiencies and continuous improvement initiatives
