Role Description The Catering Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Wellesley, MA. This role oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of catering events, ensuring high-quality food, service, and presentation. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing catering schedules, supervising staff, coordinating with kitchen and operations teams, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and guests. The Catering Manager monitors food safety, inventory, and cost controls, while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to Compass Group standards. This position also involves supporting menu development, handling event logistics, and contributing to sales growth through excellent service and repeat business.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Food Service and Catering, with experience managing events of varying sizes and types.
  • Hands-on Cooking and Food & Beverage knowledge to support menu planning, quality control, and food safety compliance.
  • Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, respond to feedback, and build client relationships.
  • Experience leading teams in a hospitality or food service setting, including scheduling, training, and performance oversight.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations, and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple events.
  • Proficiency with basic office and point-of-sale systems; experience with catering management software is an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in catering, events, hospitality, or food service management; an associate or bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or a related field is preferred.
