As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Café Manager to help lead and develop the hospitality offering at our new Port Melbourne venue.
Role Description
This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing café and hospitality operations while supporting the overall venue experience. We're looking for someone with strong hospitality experience who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys leading teams, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.
The successful candidate will play a key role in launching and growing our café operations while helping create an outstanding experience for members, players, and guests.
Key Responsabilities
Oversee daily café and hospitality operations.
• Lead customer service standards and ensure an exceptional guest experience.
• Manage stock control, inventory systems, and supplier relationships.
• Coordinate ordering and purchasing to maintain efficient stock levels.
• Assist with menu development and ongoing product improvements.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, and compliance standards are maintained.
• Manage labour costs and operational efficiencies.
• Recruit, onboard, train, and support café and hospitality staff.
• Deliver barista training and maintain beverage quality standards.
• Prepare staff rosters and workforce planning schedules.
• Coordinate hospitality requirements for events, socials, and corporate functions.
• Assist with the setup and launch of café operations at Port Melbourne.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational excellence.
About you
Previous experience managing hospitality, café, or venue operations.
• Strong understanding of stock control, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
• Experience leading and developing hospitality teams.
• Knowledge of food safety and compliance requirements.
• Barista experience highly regarded.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Positive, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability to work weekends and evenings when required.
