Bartender / Shift Supervisor Jobs in New York, NY at Tara Rose & Mór
Title: Bartender / Shift Supervisor
Company: Tara Rose & Mór
Location: New York, NY
Tara Rose is an American café and bistro in the heart of New York City. We're a neighborhood spot that takes hospitality seriously: known for a welcoming atmosphere, quality food and drink, and a team that genuinely cares about the experience we deliver. We're looking for a Bartender / Shift Supervisor who can hold their own behind the bar and step into a leadership role when it counts.
About the role:
This is a dual-function role for someone who is equally comfortable shaking cocktails and running a room. You'll spend the majority of your time behind the bar delivering a great guest experience, while also taking on supervisory responsibilities — overseeing the floor, supporting your teammates, and ensuring the shift runs smoothly from open to close.
What you'll do:
- Execute behind the bar. Craft cocktails, manage your well, and deliver consistent, high-quality service during high-volume shifts — speed and precision are equally expected.
- Own the flow of service. Manage pacing and communication across FOH to keep service moving — stepping in wherever the shift needs you.
- Support and guide the team. Provide real-time direction to floor staff, set the standard for hospitality, and hold the team accountable when needed.
- Champion the guest experience. Engage with guests proactively, resolve issues with poise, and ensure every interaction reflects the Tara Rose standard.
- Support private events and programming. Help execute buyouts, parties, and special events — from setup to breakdown — with the same energy as any regular service.
- Uphold operational standards. Assist with opening and closing procedures, monitor compliance with health and liquor regulations, and keep the bar and floor running tight.
- Handle shift reporting and cash. Assist with end-of-shift reconciliation, log any incidents or issues, and communicate needs to ownership or management.
What we're looking for:
- 2+ years of bartending experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant environment
- Supervisory or management experience preferred — you've led people before and it shows
- Solid cocktail knowledge and the ability to execute under pressure without sacrificing quality
- Natural communicator — confident with guests, clear with teammates, and composed when things get busy
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling, and basic bar operations
- TIPS certification and/or Food Handler's Certification a plus
Location: New York City – Onsite. Full-time.
Compensation: Competitive, base salary + tips.
