A structured Barback role is critical to assist bartenders with the preparation of drinks as well providing our guests with the best service and experience.

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Barback will be responsible to assist the entire bartending team. This will include completing tasks such as stocking, cleaning, and assisting bartenders and servers in their role.

  • Stock coolers in all of the following areas. Centre Bar walk-in cooler, Center Bar coolers, Poker coolers, High Limit cooler as necessary.
  • Properly fill out requisition form necessary for liquor transfer.
  • Assist bartenders in opening and closing the bar.
  • Maintain product and ice levels in Center and Poker bars (High limit as necessary)
  • Maintain bar supplies in Center and Poker bar. (glassware, cups, grenadine, straws, Tabasco, etc.)
  • Maintain coffee and supplies at both Centre and Poker bar.
  • Ensure proper inventory rotation (first in – first out)
  • General cleaning as required in all of the areas listed above, especially the removal of bottles and garbage.
  • Assist servers with bussing and cleaning Centre Bar tables (High Limit as necessary)
  • Clean up spilled food and broken dishes.
  • Any other general cleaning duty as assigned by the supervisor on duty.
  • To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • All other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Up to 6 months beverage experience is an asset.
  • AGLC – Proserve/Protect preferred
  • Communication Skills good speaking and listening skills to understand that tasks are being asked of them and to deal with any concerns from guests.
  • Physical Ability Many of the Porter tasks require him/her to carry loads up to 25 kilograms. During any expediting he/she must be able to move the load on a tray across the restaurant floor smoothly.
  • Good health and personal hygiene.
  • Has an interest in learning about food and beverage service.
  • Has a cheerful, positive attitude.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Good with dealing with stressful situations.
  • Able to take direction.

The schedule for this position may vary and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
