This posting is for an existing vacancy within Lais Hotel Properties Limited.

Position Summary: To lead and supervise the banquet team in the set up and service of contracted events related to food and beverage in a manner consistent with a 4-diamond establishment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
  • Meeting established up-selling and sales goals
  • To lead in the set up function space as required both in house and off-site
  • To lead in the service function according to established Standard Operating Procedures
  • To manage the service of each function as the lead hand
  • Tear down at functions end; ensure all equipment is returned to its proper place
  • To ensure supply and equipment areas are clean and organized
  • To ensure area and function rooms are properly cleaned after group leaves and set for show
  • To work closely with the Conference Services Manager and/or Special Events Manager to ensure details are executed for each event
  • Prepare final billing for events including required back-up charges such as control sheets for beverage inventory
  • Having a thorough knowledge of Lais Hotel Properties’ products and services
  • Suggesting additional product and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences
  • Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and services
  • Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs
  • Professional Requirements:

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail
  • At least 1 – 2 years serving experience in a lead or supervisory capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset
  • Personal Attributes:

  • Professional appearance and presentation skills
  • Confidence in selling and up-selling products and services
  • Organized and ability to delegate effectively
  • Able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Good problem-solving skills
