About The Role
We are currently seeking a Banquet Attendant to join our pre-opening team at Manhattan Grand Hotel. This role is responsible for delivering seamless, attentive service across meetings, weddings, conferences, and special events, helping to bring our guests' most important occasions to life with precision and genuine hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up event and banquet spaces accurately according to function sheets, including table settings, linen, chinaware, and equipment.
- Provide attentive food and beverage service during banquets, weddings, conferences, and special events.
- Break down and reset event spaces promptly and efficiently following the conclusion of each function.
- Coordinate closely with the Banquet/Events team and kitchen to ensure timely and accurate service execution.
- Respond promptly to guest and event organiser requests, ensuring a smooth and professional guest experience.
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and readiness of banquet equipment, storage areas, and service stations.
- Assist with the transport, storage, and maintenance of banquet furniture, equipment, and décor items.
- Support multiple simultaneous events during high-volume periods, adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and health and safety regulations at all times.
- Ensure compliance with the Hotel's brand standards, grooming guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures.
About You
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Banquet Attendant, Waiter/Waitress, or similar F&B service role, preferably within an upscale or luxury hospitality environment.
- Strong knowledge of banquet service standards, table setting, and event setup procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently as part of a team, particularly during high-pressure, time-sensitive event turnovers.
- Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages will be considered an advantage.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move banquet furniture and equipment as required.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation standards.
- Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; formal certification will be considered an advantage.
- Flexibility to work varied and irregular shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, based on the event calendar.
