Role Description The Back of House and Front of House Managers restaurant roles at our client is a full-time, on-site position based in Paarl. The Back of House Manager will oversee kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking processes, inventory management, and adherence to food quality and safety standards. The Front of House Manager will supervise dining room and service areas, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth table turnover, and effective coordination with the kitchen. Both managers will be responsible for staff scheduling, training, performance management, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. Day-to-day activities include monitoring operational workflows, resolving guest queries or complaints, managing suppliers, and supporting overall restaurant profitability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills, with the ability to maintain consistency and efficiency in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in food & beverage operations and food quality control, including compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Proven culinary management experience, such as overseeing kitchen teams, menu execution, and inventory or cost control.
- Previous leadership experience in both back of house and front of house roles, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including staff scheduling and shift planning.
- Ability to work on-site in Paarl, with flexibility to cover evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Formal training in hospitality management, culinary arts, or a related field is advantageous, along with prior experience in restaurant or hotel operations.
