Bar Brasserie OCCO is looking for an Assistant Sommelier to take our guests along on that story! Located at the Keizersgracht, in the heart of the Nine Streets neighborhood is Amsterdam’s best kept secret: The Dylan Amsterdam. A 5-star luxury boutique hotel where we offer sincere and personal service and create memorable experiences for our guests. A historical environment with 41 unique hotel rooms, 4 private rooms for meetings & events and two restaurants: Bar Brasserie OCCO and Two Michelin star awarded Restaurant Vinkeles. In the heart of the hotel is Bar Brasserie OCCO. Here, we focus on quality regional products, craftsmanship, and personal service. We welcome our local and international guests in the casual Brasserie, at the Bar, or in our cozy lounge for breakfast, lunch, High Wine, dinner, a cup of coffee, or a creative cocktail. Bar Brasserie OCCO is looking for a motivated colleague with the ambition to grow within the world of wine. Under the guidance of the Restaurant Manager OCCO and the Sommelier, you will further develop your wine knowledge. You will advise guests on our carefully curated wine list, assist with our High Wine experiences, and support the management of the wine inventory. At the same time, you will actively take part in service, contributing to OCCO’s high standards. You will also help lead your team to ensure smooth operations and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere in the brasserie. The combination of working with wine and being part of the restaurant team ensures that no day is ever the same, making this position an exciting and dynamic challenge.   • You have graduated from a hotel management school or a similar education.
  • You have experience in a similar position within a restaurant that offers high-quality service.
  • You are eager to deepen your wine knowledge and enjoy sharing your enthusiasm with colleagues and guests.
  • You combine personal service with a warm yet professional approach to hospitality.
  • You work smoothly within a small, professional team and easily switch between different tasks.
  • You have strong communication skills, both spoken and written, in Dutch and English.
