Today, it is a cosmopolitan organization offering members a wide range of facilities and services, both on the water and on shore. The principal base is Kellett Island in Causeway Bay, supported by branches at Shelter Cove near Sai Kung for cruisers and Middle Island in Repulse Bay for dinghy sailing, sail training, and rowing. RHKYC provides sailing and rowing courses for members and non-members at various levels, supporting the growth and development of both sports and the wider club community.

Role Description

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based Kellett Island, Causeway Bay in Hong Kong at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s dining facilities.

This role supports the Senior Assistant Restaurant Manager and Outlets Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, including supervising service teams, coordinating reservations, and ensuring smooth shift management. The Assistant Restaurant Manager monitors service standards, addresses member and guest feedback, and works to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include assisting with staff scheduling, training and coaching team members, collaborating with the kitchen and bar on menu and service execution, and maintaining compliance with club policies, hygiene, and safety standards. The role also helping to deliver a consistent, high-quality food and beverage experience aligned with the Club’s premium positioning.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience, preferably with at least 2 years in a similar supervisory/management role
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead by example in delivering the highest service standards to members
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills, a customer-oriented mentality, self-confidence, and an energetic work approach
  • Able to work under pressure while maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times
  • Knowledge of POS system and restaurant software
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Putonghua speaking is preferable
  • Computer literacy in MS Office and Chinese word processing
