Role Description The Assistant Restaurant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Central & Western District, supporting daily operations of the bakery and café. This role assists with overseeing front-of-house and food service activities, ensuring smooth service flow, consistent product quality, and an excellent guest experience. Responsibilities include supervising and scheduling team members, guiding staff during shifts, monitoring food safety and hygiene standards, and handling customer inquiries or concerns. The Assistant Restaurant Manager helps with staff training, supports inventory and ordering, and collaborates on promotional initiatives and menu rollouts. This role also contributes to maintaining a clean, organized environment, monitoring performance metrics, and providing feedback to the Restaurant Manager to improve operations and team effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, handle feedback professionally, and create a welcoming environment for diverse guests.
  • Candidates should possess Food Safety and Food & Beverage knowledge to ensure compliance with hygiene standards and consistent quality of products and service.
  • Candidates should possess Training and Team Leadership abilities to onboard new team members, provide coaching, and lead shifts effectively.
  • Experience in bakery, café, or restaurant operations is beneficial, including cash handling, POS systems, and basic inventory management.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and to be hands-on in both service and operational tasks.
  • Previous supervisory or shift leader experience in hospitality is an advantage; vocational training or certification in hospitality or food service is a plus.
