Role Description

An Assistant Manager – Dining and Banquet Operations, is a full-time, on-site role based at Azuridge Estate Hotel near Calgary, AB. This position supports the Food and Beverage leadership team in overseeing daily operations across dining room, bar, lounges, and event spaces, ensuring excellent service standards and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include supervising front-of-house and food service teams, coordinating with the culinary team on menus, wedding and special events, managing reservations and service flow, and monitoring food safety and quality. The role also involves training and coaching team members, handling guest feedback and escalations, assisting with scheduling and inventory control, and contributing to enhancements in the overall guest experience.

The Assistant Manager is expected to lead by example on the floor, maintaining a polished, welcoming atmosphere aligned with Azuridge’s luxury standards.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer-facing skills, including Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction, with a focus on delivering luxury guest experiences
  • Minimum two years of experience in Supervisor role managing small team of food and beverage associates for a luxury or boutique hotel or fine dine restaurant
  • Experience in luxury food and beverage service operations, including supervising dining room and bar service
  • Working knowledge of Food Safety standards and best practices, with the ability to implement and monitor compliance
  • Experience with beverage inventory control and industry compliance procedures

Accountabilities:

As an Assistant Dining and Banquet Operations Manager you will be accountable to:

• Manage day-to-day food and beverage floor operations at the outlets (Opal Dining Room and The Gazebo), ensuring the balance between delivering excellent guest service, maximizing profitability and supporting the development of all colleagues to their highest potential

· Support food and beverage Supervisors and Lead to optimize the efficiency of our operations

• Maintain effective and clear communication with supervisors and hourly team members, and other departments within the hotel to ensure execution of all dining and Banquet operations

• Strong floor presence, supporting the FOH service staff on the floor mainly with the beverage service when on duty for dining and events

• Work closely with the F&B Manager towards maximizing guest satisfaction and hotel profitability by ensuring that F&B operations are functioning within allocated budget guidelines

•  Work closely with the F&B manager in maintaining service-related internal administration systems such as payroll system, scheduling software, and an employee recognition program to further benefit the department

• Perform month-end inventory for beverages and other departmental supplies to be compliant with the month end procedures

• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing team to help create opportunities for F&B revenue generation. Participate in planning and executing large Azuridge Events

• Conduct pre-shift in each area prior to service to communicate important details to the team and encourage staff engagement

• Maintain high professional standards at work

· Assist F&B manager with the process to respond and seek resolutions to all guest concerns: live, by phone and email

· Order product and supplies including alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, speciality wines. Receive and properly arrange the delivery of products

· Implement and ensure adherence to hotel policies, practices, and procedures

· Update and maintain SOPs for outlets and event operations

· Update and maintain POS both front and back-end and troubleshoot any issues that may occur

· Perform other operational duties as assigned
