Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Assistant General Manager role based in San Francisco.

This is a hands-on leadership position. The AGM is expected to be present on the floor, lead service, support the team in real time, and ensure consistency across all aspects of the guest experience.

You will work closely with the General Manager and ownership to oversee daily operations, including service execution, staff leadership, and operational organization. This role also requires coordination across multiple areas of the business, including private events, off-site catering, and inventory management.

The right candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable balancing service leadership with operational responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead service on the floor and support the team during peak shifts
  • Train, coach, and develop FOH staff
  • Oversee scheduling, labor management, and daily operations
  • Support the execution of private events and off-site catering
  • Monitor inventory and assist with ordering and cost control
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and company standards

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of restaurant management experience
  • Strong presence on the floor and ability to lead by example
  • Comfortable managing both service and operational responsibilities
  • Experience in high-volume or fast-paced restaurant environments
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Toast, 7shifts, or similar systems preferred
  • Strong interest in wine; knowledge of Italian wines is a plus
  • Ability to confidently guide guests through wine selections and support the team on the floor
  • Previous experience working with a curated wine program preferred
