Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Cook / Kitchen Assistant based in Hawally, Kuwait. The Assistant Cook will support the kitchen team in food preparation, ingredient handling, and maintaining food safety standards. Responsibilities include assisting in cooking tasks, preparing ingredients, cleaning and sanitizing workspaces, operating kitchen equipment, and organizing inventory. The role also involves ensuring the quality of prepared food and following recipes and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Skills in food preparation, cooking, and working with kitchen equipment
- Knowledge of food hygiene, safety procedures, and kitchen sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes, measure ingredients accurately, and maintain consistency
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage kitchen inventory effectively
- Teamwork, communication, and the ability to work in a collaborative kitchen environment
- Adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience in a similar role is a plus
- Basic understanding of health-focused food preparation is an advantage
Requirements:
- Experience: Prior experience working in a commercial kitchen or restaurant.
- Visa: Must hold a transferable Article 18 work visa in Kuwait.
- Health Card: Valid Kuwait Municipality (Baladiya) Health Card is preferred.
- Language: Ability to speak in English & Arabic.
- Knowlege: Ability to use computer & Microsoft apps
